Meet our Shepherd
Fr Emérico Orlando Silvestre Marques (Parish Priest, 2025-present)
Rev. Fr.Americo Orlando Silvestre Marques was born on 31st December 1962 in St. Estêvão. He is the son of Mr. Lawrence Marques and Mrs. Maria Lourdes Paulina Alphonso.
He completed his schooling at St. theresa High School, St. Estêvão, and joined the Seminary at Saligao at the young age of 11, responding early to God’s call. He pursued his higher studies at St. Xavier’s, and completed his Theology and Philosophy, in Rachol Seminary.
Rev. Fr. Marques was ordained a priest on 15th May 1990 at Our Lady of Hope Church, Chinchini, marking the beginning of a devoted life in priestly ministry.
Following his ordination, he completed one year at the Pastoral Institute. He then served as Assistant Parish Priest at St. Alex Church,Cutorim. He later served as Parish Priest at Our Lady of Remedies Church followed by St. John the Baptist Church.
In addition to his parish responsibilities, Rev. Fr. Marques rendered dedicated service as Dean of the Old Goa Deanery for 7 years. He also served as Parish Priest at Reis Magos (Maggi) Church for 7 years. And now serves as Parish Priest Of St Clara’s Church Assonora
